NEW – PARA 1RM SEAL ROW
For the first time, we are also inviting para lifters to compete in 1RM Seal Row.
Up to 3 para spots will be available.
For this competition, the para category is intended for athletes with a permanent physical impairment affecting the lower extremities.
Women and men will compete together in a separate Para Score category using RGA’s current scoring system.
The Para category will initially be run as a test class, allowing us to collect competition data and continue developing the future scoring system and competition format.
A separate page with complete Para eligibility, rules and scoring information will be published as we have more data for the development of the calculator.
A requirement for applying is that you have tried the exercise before and successfully lifted at least 50% of your bodyweight, in accordance with the RGA Rules.
Want to try it out at our gym and see if you qualify? Contact us and let’s make it happen!
1RM Challenge (One-Repetition Maximum):
This challenge is about lifting as heavy as possible for one lift only just like in powerlifting, but instead of the weight you compete on RGA Scores (i.e. coefficient).
RULES:
Seal Row:
Grab the barbell and await the signal to “lift”. The timer starts now.
Pull the barbell until it hits or touches the base of the bench; and hold on to the barbell until it’s back on the floor – or the rep doesn’t count.
Your little fingers must be within the 91 cm marks.
Equipment:
Magnesia and lifting shoes/slippers is allowed in all events, but that’s it.
It’s mandatory to wear clothes that makes it easy to see your knees and elbows (i.e T-Shirt/Tank top, Shorts/Thights or Hot pants).
Only calibrated Mens and Womens Weightlifting barbells with correct 91 cm marks are allowed in competitons.
